Cement Australia continues to innovate in the cement industry with improved technology.
Cement Australia is proud to have 6 fully Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV's) already in our fleet. The first delivery took placed in June 2023.
Our BEVs have leading technological features including an On Board Mass (OBM) management system which is visible to the regulator 100% of the time to ensure compliance; and Regenerative Braking which puts charge back into the battery to increase range, especially when metro driving.
All our drivers are now trained on BEVs, ensuring that the vehicles can be driven across our entire network a as we procure them.
- 10,586km travelled by our BEVs between June and September 2023
- Our first electric prime mover is nicknamed Eevee
- Our electric fleet are reconditioned Kenworth T403s
The positive impacts of our electric fleet can already be measured, and Cement Australia is excited to see how they increase over time.
The decision to convert our delivery fleet from diesel to electric is part of Cement Australia's overall sustainability strategy, and the process is expected to be completed by 2030.
